Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium - 64 Bit Full Version & Upgrade SP1 NEW!

Upgraded two systems from Windows Vista without issues
I upgraded two circa 2009 Windows Vista systems without any issues related to the discs or product keys. Even the internet activation worked the first time when I provided the product key, and it was not necessary to use the phone activation method. The only problem I encountered (and it happened on both systems) was that Windows Update would not do anything. The first system I upgraded, I let Update run for five days before bailing out. After that, I did some research and found that manually installing three updates from the Microsoft support site would fix the issue. Download and install the updates for KB3020369, KB3179573, and KB3138612 in that order. I rebooted after each, which may have been overkill. After that, within minutes Windows Update found about 200+ updates and installed them all in less than an hour. Since that time both systems are running great and all of the other applications and hardware devices are working without any problems.

Noisy, and bulky cable adapter might impede airflow
The physical size of the PSU is a perfect match for the space allocated for it in my EX485's server case. However, the cable is wired for a normal ATX pinout and to mate with the EX485 motherboard requires a supplied 20-pin to 20-pin adapter. The extra bulk of that adapter makes it hard to stuff the cabling into the case, and takes up a lot of space that was meant to allow for airflow. I'm concerned the PSU might run hot as a result. The PSU fan constantly runs full throttle, is extremely noisy and sounds like there is a turbine running in my office. The original PSU that lasted four years, and its replacement that lasted eight years were both very quiet and I never noticed the server running just a few feet above my head. Now I can hear it when I approach the door to the office.

Great MOBO for home NAS build
This motherboard was a great option for my NAS build. My decision to purchase was based on the following: * Eighteen (18) on-board SATA III ports available out of the box. * A generate RAM capacity with support for ECC. * Enough PCIe slots for networking and graphics card upgrades, and even the LSI 9211-8i SAS HBA should I ever want to expand my storage pool. I used this MOBO to build a TrueNAS SCALE server with 128 GB ECC RAM, a 10 x 20TB RAIDZ2 storage pool and 2.5 GbE networking. I have enough SATA ports left open should I decide to add an SDD cache, or I could go with an M.2 NVME PCIe adapter. I looked at a few MOBOs that offered M.2 NVME slots, but ultimately decided the X10SRH-CF was a better price point for my requirements.
