At Last! An Unpretentious Text.
This volume has no additional title page, but is equipped with a table of contents, and ab appendiz enabling the reader to locate chapters.
It is typeset as a modern book -- in paragraphs, just like the original. Sentences are not broken after every semicolon.
I would recommend this book to the vast majority of literate persons wanting to kbow what the Book of Mormon is about without being assaulted by footnotes leading them off into doctrinal ezpeditions they have no aptitude or desire for.
705 pages with index. Readable type pn white paper. 9 x 7 x 1 15/16 " thick -- almost exactly the same dimensions as the old paperback Doubleday Reader's Edition of the Jerusalem Bible, but on better paper that won't brown and get musty.

Dark Shadows, or Barnabas Collins, Part II
1 of 1 found this helpful I like the product for several reasons. Number one is that it is professionally produced, and all the disks actually play. There are a few manufacturers of DVD sets who provide poor quality disks, and in a set, it may be months before the defective disk is discovered. There is no such problem with this set. Put each disk in and it plays -- every single time. This is actually a 4 disk set.
I bought Dark Shadows no. 2 because it was a nostalgia item that I wanted. I was not disappointed in the least. I had already purchased set #1 at Half Price Books and enjoyed it. Had I not seen the product in a used bookstore, I would not have known it existed, nor be aware of the quality of the product.
The picture image is not perfect, because the video is very old, but it is viewable, and all details of the sets are plainly visible. These were some very detailed sound stage sets, so there is no compromise in your viewing pleasure.
Just a caveat to potential buyers. The set number one begins with the appearance of Barnabas Collins, the most popular character. This set (#2) continues his adventures from set one. For sticklers who want the whole show, the performances previous to Barnabas' appearance are identified in their sets as "Dark Shadows -- The Beginning."

In the days of Alternating Current American HO
0 of 1 found this helpful This locomotive is one of the earliest ready-to run HO products for the American public. It was such a large engine because the model needed a fairly large motor, and smaller prototypes would not acommodate the available motors. This unit appears to be AC driven, as it looks to have the reversing unit in the tender. The AC models have a on-off-on-off characteristic to reverse.
Gilbert did make a few of these models for DC. In those, the AC motor simply had the AC wired electromagnet replaced with a permanent magnet for DC operation.
This is a collector's item, but running it on any ready to go HO track nowadays would be very difficult, since it is AC.
The problem with longevity of the model is that the drive axles are inserted into holes in the frame. When the grease lubing the wheels begins to dry out, the axles can freeze. On later designs from other manufacturers, a cover plate is removed and the axles drop out to be cleaned, and then replaced. The Gilbert axles require a gear pulling tool to get one wheel off to slide the axle out of the frame. Once that is done, it is anybody's guess if the wheel can be reseated properly. If not, the engine gallops or stalls.
