A concise movie about the life of Jesus
1 of 1 found this helpful Jeffrey Hunter does a fine job portraying Jesus. The story is presented through the eyes of a Roman official observing Jesus from the time he was a child through the crucifixion. Ironically, I wish the writers would have put more of Jesus into the film, instead of having other characters discuss him, I would like to have seen more of Jesus' messages and miracles. This movie is less detailed and much shorter than "Jesus of Nazareth", staying within the traditional 2 hour time frame for movies, but is an easier watch, and it was more satisfying than "The Greatest Story Ever Told". A good watch for the family with kids, but less impactful and 10 times less violent than The Passion of the Christ. Critics have frequently been critical of Jeffrey Hunter in this role, but he did an absolutely fine job, as did the other actors in this concise presentation of Jesus' life. I would give more criticism to the script story than the performance or filming.
