16 Lighthouse Road
Love this author. Her books are light, wholesome, & homey. They make you feel good. Having grown up in a small town, the antics and personalities in this small picturesque town remind me of home. I bought this book because I had bought her latest not knowing that it was the fifth book in a series. I decided that I wanted to start at the beginning and read all of the books in order. This book was the first. The first digit in the address tells you the order of the book. I also found the other three on ebay. These books comprize a wonderful story and wouldn't have been nearly as fun if I hadn't started at the beginning.

The Liar's Club
I decided to read this book along with several others after seeing it on a list of favorite books of the last 20 years. I've enjoyed it very much. I was drawn to the story as it is similar to mine in many ways...it does take me back. Great story. Tough kids with a horrific childhood, but one that many seem to suffer through. There is lots of humor to break up the horror so that it doesn't engulf the reader. No one could make this stuff up!

Cherry by Mary Karr
Cherry picks up where 'The Liar's Club' leaves off. It is an autobiography of Mary Karr's teenagehood and coming of age in the late 60's early 70's. This book deals with her early drug use and is a great trip back to those times for us who lived through those times. If you've read 'The Liar's Club', you must read this one, the story isn't complete unless you do. Of course, it does leave you wondering what happened later on.......
