Budget watch with a lot of history

Cons
Bracelet is very poor. Actually quite comfy. Just feels tinny and the clasp is razor sharp. Cant say it's a major criticism at this price point. Most people will switch it up to a nato or leather strap anyway.
Ultimately some cheap seiko's offer better value for money and have slightly better finishing.

Stylish, classy, affordable, deceptive
You are probably considering this watch because you actually know a thing or two about watches or have been influenced by a recent review. There are plenty of reviews available already to help you make your mind up. For the price it is unbelievable that you get a hacking and handwinding movement that has decent accuracy for an auto. In my opinion Orient provide even greater value for money than their big brother seiko. As such I own this and the Orient Ray, both of which get plenty of wrist time. The single best thing about this watch is the simply stunning grey face that just 'pops' from every angle. It is a thing of beauty. This watch really does look like it's worth ten times as much. Goes great with a suit and tie or as an evening dress watch. The leather strap softens with time and is unremarkable but that is not a bad thing as the watch does it's own talking. My only criticism would be that as this is a classy understated dress watch it would have been better of being 38mm rather than the hefty 42mm it is. Also the strap out length of 21mm does somewhat limit your potential for aftermarket straps. Both minor points. So go ahead you don't be disappointed.

Fantastic pilot watch. Get it before it doubles in price!
4 of 4 found this helpful I've been eyeing up this 'flightmaster' for many months and then finally pulled the trigger and I'm very glad I did. It's one of the few quartz watches highly respected and sought after by watch geeks like me and indeed a review by a popular blogger led me to fall for this model. It's surprising that seiko have managed to give this watch a 200m water resistance rating at this pricepoint. The screw down crown and Stopwatch timers will no doubt have helped toward this. For those that care and are capable (not me), this watch can calculate all sorts of measurements such as mpg/ speed etc utilising the bidirectional bezel. This watch takes design cues from the Breitling navitimer. So it is a busy dial but that shouldn't put you off. The lume is fantastic. In the flesh the quality is exceptional for the pricepoint and will get you a lot of compliments. In particular the online pictures do not do the gorgeous 2 tone bracelet any justice. There's no point commenting on the accuracy as you will take that for granted with this tried and tested seiko quartz movement. I own a few of the seiko classics including the skx and the orange monster so I appreciate quality and I make no hesitation in recommending this beauty. Please note that this is the sought after 'flighty' with the model number sna411. Other adverts are labeling some similar watches but different models as flightmasters but you will be disappointed if your after the future iconic collectors 'flighty'. Also please note that this is not a large watch. I'm very pleased Seiko haven't followed the trend of upsizing their watches to the current grotesque size of so called designer watches. This keeps this watch looking classy. The stats are all available online but please at the same time don't think it is too small as it certainly sits nice and comfortable on my medium sized wrists.
