Right idea wrong part

My bike is an early 84 production date 9 of 83. So by the description it should have fit but my bike splits a year like that. So according to the description it should have worked but my bike splits the year like that. So my transmission case is actually late 84 or early 85 so it wasn't correct. No fault of the manufacturer.
