Utter disappointment
I received the product after a slight shipping delay. It took longer than expected to arrive but I was excited when it did eventually arrive. The laptop is in pristine condition with no sign or damage what so ever. I loaded the laptop after putting it on the charger. After updating Windows 11 via the settings it required a system restart. The laptop reset it itself to finish the install and it blue screened. I had to go through the Alienware command center to run diagnostics. After which I had to put in the bit locker code three times because it continued to blue screen. When it finally did allow me to get into Windows I reinstalled the updates. I then went onto AMD to install all the most current drives for the 6900hx CPU and the 6850XT GPU. I installed steam and downloaded several of the games from my steam library. I downloaded Far Cry 6, Dying Light, Dying Light 2 and Cyberpunk. Every single game upon start up would immediately black screen. It wouldn’t give a specific reason as to why. The GPU was not recognized on the Alienware command center. The Alienware Command Center also uninstalled itself upon the second restart of the system. When I tried to turn the laptop on the next day while on the charger the screen didn’t turn on what so ever. The screen was completely black and wouldn’t show any image. I had to bring it to a professional computer repair shop. It took him most of the day and he was able to get the screen working again. It still wouldn’t load any games. He said that it had a plethora of bugs and viruses on it that was inhibiting it’s usability. He has to keep it over the weekend and attempt to diagnose what the specific cause of the issues is. I personally did a hardware check and verified that everything is in working condition. Also went through the bios to try and self diagnose it. I was unsuccessful in doing so. I am supremely disappointed as the laptop itself is ascetically pleasing and the mechanical keyboard with the Cherry Mx switches is the best keyboard I’ve ever typed on. If he cannot find a solution I will be returning the laptop. I have to pay $145, in order for two days of repair work to be completed. It’s very upsetting that the laptop wasn’t throughly tested before being shipped to an eager customer.
