Replacement is exactly like the original.
I have been using another unit just like this, and it just didn't work anymore. I was glad to find it, and it lights a spot that is quite dark in the kitchen.

Good Value
I have owned two other similar units. This one seemed to have different settings and not quick settings. Otherwise, it seems to work just as well as the previous units

Well worth the money
I have been looking for one of these to get for my neighbor's meter. The price seemed right compared to other products. I noticed that it was pretty much classified as government surplus. When we received it, it did not seem to work. Upon examination we found an old, Eveready battery, you know, the one with the cat jumping through the "9." Testing the battery it only was putting out 6 volts. After replacing the battery the unit worked fine.
Be sure to check the battery when you receive the unit.
