Read while a child, then as an adult - great book for all.
I love this book so much. I read it as a child and never forgot how history intertwined with the engaging story from the donkey perspective. One thing I always wished was that the book had a map included! The physical descriptions of the geology, the times, the development, and T. Roosevelt’s advocacy of the area are different than today’s values, but tell a more mature reader much about the Gand Canyon today. One of my all time favourite books.

Clean candles
Have ordered these more than once. They burn well, are way cleaner burning than candles made of petroleum wax, gentle honey like scent(basically I scented), only wish they weren’t in plastic.

Practice helps readiness
1 of 1 found this helpful We have cougar sightings on several sides of my home. We also have black bear (which in 14 years I've never seen - have seen cougar). I have seen something 'float' by my window every night for a week and several times since - it's not a deer, bear, or raccoon. Apparently using bear spray on a cougar is the recommendation. A woman was killed by one in my area a couple of years ago, less than a mile from my house. Wanted a little practice under my belt - so I got this. It reminds me of a fire extinguisher...I was ready when a fire broke out on a sailboat. The owner and her husband didn't know how to use it - I did and was able to put it out. So, if I need it, I feel more confident. Prefer never to use it, and coexist.
