SOLD AS-IS NO WARRANTY. . It's a good unit when it works
After I wrote this review I went and looked at the warranty information and Northern states, AS-IS, no warranty with this unit whatsoever. So within a month or two the sprayer wand broke. So I picked up a better one at Tractor Supply for less than $20. Then I forgot and left the pump on and it blew out the clear vinyl hose. So I replace the hose with regular sprayer hose for chemicals which is black rubber for about $24 for 50 feet. So it's been working perfectly until about a week ago. Now the spray is pulsating coming out the nozzle. I called Northern and talk to their technical advice team and they told me that was normal. Obviously they have no idea of what they're talking about. I pulled the head unit off of it and took a look at the diaphragms. They all look good. The problem is is not all of the diaphragms our Sealing. That's why the ones that are working are giving pressure which is causing the pulsating of the spray. So the pump head unit it's got to be rebuilt. When I was talking to Northern they said they have a two-year warranty on the machine. I will call them back on Monday Define doubt if they will warranty the pump and send me a rebuild kit. This situation is to be expected being that the causticity of the chemicals that are being sprayed through the unit will eventually take a toll on the rubber parts. Highly recommend Flushing the pump at the end of each day. May not be a bad idea do you run some mineral oil or baby oil through the pump to help lubricate the rubber diaphragms. The problems I've had with my unit have been fairly minor. I would recommend buying this unit. When it works it works well when it doesn't work it's just a little bit of time money and effort to fix it
