    A masterpiece of the Thirties.
A great movie, with a magnificent cast, which includes James Stewart and Marlene Dietrich. James Stewart gives an excellent performance as the mild mannered Deputy Sheriff who refuses to carry guns and his conversion to a gun toting law enforcer who needs to avenge the death of his friend and mentor. Marlene portraits a bawdy bar singer and an henchwoman to the town crook who later on helps Stewart and sacrifices herself for him. Her rendering of the bar-room songs are well belted out, which includes "The Boys In the Backroom" and "Little Joe". James Stewart is one of my favourites and I have seen most of his movies and followed his career right from the 1930s till he passed away. I had seen this movies several years back on video tape and was impressed with the performance of the entire. The sets are authentic and one feels that he is transported to the wild west of 1800s. An excellent movie, well produced and directed, I would recommend it to all to see and appreciate.

    Very Very dissapointed.
I anxiously awaited the arrival of the Blu Ray package which arrived after an inordinate delay. I immediately put it on my Pioneer BDP 120 Blu Ray player (which is a Region A Player) and to my utter horror, the Disc refused to play. I got some message that I need to upgrade the software of the player. How do I do that? Any help will be welcome. I am really dissapointed!!

    An Excellent Gripping Movie
A vintage 1957 movie with an aging but still gorgeous Rita Hayworth, supported by the evergreen Robert Mitchum and Jack Lemon, who has departed from his usual funny roles. Most of the action is abroad a tramp steamer with Rita being wooed by Jack Lemon and secretally coveted by Robert Mitchum.. Scintillating photography, gorgeous Technicolor and great music, particularly the theme song and a no. 1 hit parader of that time "Fire Down Below", vocalized sensationally by Jeri Southern, are the highlights of the film. Bring back your old memories of those vintage and glorious years and move backinto time with this wonderful movie and enjoy!!
