Perfect successor to T420
Ability to upgrade to a quad core makes it one of the most affordable and powerful mobile power horses. The i7-4900MQ that you can put in it is even faster than the quad core in T460p making T440p a good investment for years to come. Another great feature is an optional HDD caddy giving you plenty of storage options. It's the latest edition thinkpad with ability to have 2x 2.5" disks. Pairing it with an optional 1080p IPS display ($55 dollars for such an upgrade) makes it one of the best thinkpads that you can get today in my opinion.
