Poor quality control
0 of 2 found this helpful I preferred one and installed it Visually looked ok I did not do a full check to make sure it was assembled correctly That was unfortunate After installation and setting the timing, the vehicle would not start After a week of investigation, resetting the timing,checking absolutely everything, having a mechanic look at it and give up, I decided “When you have eliminated all which is impossible, then whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.” It must be the camshafts were swapped I had videoed the original and yes they were reversed After swapping them, the vehicle started first try Talking to another mechanic of 25 years they said they had never heard of this kind of mistake It’s literally the one thing the rebuilder should check and get right because it’s so important Luckily no damage to the engine
Would I but my again, if it’s the only one avaialable yes but I will check it’s assembly very close
