AT-PS26 13.8V 26A amp Heavy Duty DC Regulated Power Supply Grade with Cable New

Bad quality and fries radios.
I lost a $200 radio and almost lost another on top of that. When I received this power supply the screws that held the case together were all loose. When I got it plugged in, it seemed to work as it should have but the sound you got when you flipped the switch would remind you of starting up a transformer at a substation. Loud bang from the power supply and then it hummed the whole time. I had one day, the power supply all of a sudden started making this rattling hum like an air chisel. I had to shut it off and turn it back on several times to get it to stop. The other day, as I was testing one of my radios, I heard a loud hum and bang and both radios went dead. I turned the power supply off and back on and one radio came back up online but one radio said overvoltage and the other was just dead. I tested the voltage and it said 30 volts. It is of poor quality and I am now out the price of the power supply and a 2 way radio. I would not advise buying one of these.

BAOFENG DM-1701 DMR DUAL BAND DIGITAL VHF/UHF 3000CH ENCRYPTION TWO WAY RADIO US

Good for a DMR hotspot in your house but nothing else.
For starters, for those of you who have smarts about terrain and propagation, I live in rural mid-coast Maine, so you can get an idea what sort of area I am operating in. I have owned the 2 that I have for about 10 months. They are good if you don't need to rely on them in an emergency (something that you don't use ham radio for anymore anyhow). I noticed the range on these radios is small. I've used them on a 1.5 acre property and it doesn't take much for the DMR to scramble and not come through at all, however it works 99% of the time well if you can avoid the tiny dead zones. The local repeater to me (on VHF about 6 miles away) comes in well and I can actually access it much better than the analog on the same portable. Once I start moving away from the repeater at about the 8-10 mile mark, don't bother trying to communicate. The DMR goes choppy and is non existent. From the repeater out into the areas I am in is a 1000 asl at the repeater site and everything below is a flat valley so there should be no issue getting into that repeater. A good chunk of functions on the radio have their quirks or do not work at all. IF you use a DMR hotspot, the radio DOES work very well. The radio, despite having a 5 watt power on it, only works well if you are on the same grounds. Its better for small fairgrounds, Golf course (Maybe), a church event or park. If you need distance, you better go get a mobile rig or a REAL RADIO. I think the worst part about it is that they DO NOT sell replacement batteries here in the United States. If you do find replacement batteries, they are either out of stock or you need to have them shipped to some other address and have that person/entity ship them to you. So you better hope you don't end up with a radio with a bad battery from the factory like I did. With the batteries I have on both radios, if you just monitor, the battery has about a 12-16 hour life before having to recharge. If you were using them moderately through the day, I doubt you would get 6-8 hours before having to charge up. The batteries on these have a bad habit of popping off the radio, or should I say, if they are clipped to your belt, the radio pops off and falls to the ground. Cheap garbage radios for the most part and the company as usual doesn't care. If you have a shelf they can sit on connected to a DMR hotspot, they are a good radio, but don't expect much more out of them.
