Load terminals did not work, error message not in manual
0 of 4 found this helpful Connecting an inverter as load doesn't work. An inverter powering a simple 15W lightbulb causes the "Load" LED to flash yellow, the lightbulb gets no power, and the display says "E1" which is not an error message mentioned anywhere in the manual. I tried pressing the button to reset or get into a different mode, and there is no effect, even when I hold the button down for far longer than the 3 seconds listed in the manual. The only way to reset the blinking LED and "E1" display is to disconnect and reconnect the battery. I know the problem is with the charge controller because I have another charge controller that works fine in this setup.
When I talked to the company about how to make it work, their solution was to not connect the inverter to the controller, but connect it directly to the battery. Obviously this isn't useful, as it defeats the purpose of having the product.
To be fair, their tech support responded pretty quickly and explained the mysterious "E1" error not listed in the manual. But the product itself was not good, nor was the manual.
