    The Misadventures Of A Playwright
This is a rare film about the trials and tribulations of an aspiring playwright. I don't know how this movie escaped my attention for so long. It almost seems like an "insertion", my name for the fanciful idea that something can be slipped into reality to deliver a message just for you. Then you wonder why something that just happens to speak to you has appeared out of the blue when this sort of thing interests you and you have always kept an eye out for things like this. The film features many surreal episodes which don't really fit with the serious tone of the movie. The dream sequences seem to come out of nowhere and have nothing to do with the plot. My favorite part of the film is where Kathleen Turner comes on to the aspiring playwright in order to ensure she gets the part. Now there is a reason to keep at this playwriting business!
