Got it right!

I was sceptical about buying this switch, as my first attempt (although apparently identical in appearance) had different operating positions and therefore internal wiring arrangemebts when I came to fit it. £22.00 thrown away! This one is an exact match and works correctly. I am a happy - although slightly out of pocket - bunny!

Hair dryer saved my bacon!

Initialy didn't think the machine tube and extension tube would fit together as the extension tube would not go over the machine tube end to make the mating, but when the extension was heated with a hair dryer, it fitted easily and contracted back to form a tight fit made secure with the jubilee clip. The extension tubes work well and I have a happy wife. Thank God!

Stop my head spinning someone, PLEASE.

Setting this printer up without a CD containing a comprehensive wizard was a nightmare, thank GOD - at the age of 78 - I will never have to do it again! Never having updated firmware in my old faithful Epson printer, I was hugely disinclined to update it as the setup routine for the printer - not the computer - demanded I do. If it was good enough when it left the factory, why do I need to update it now? It is NEW for goodness sake! Linking the printer to the router and then the computer was another nightmare, why is there no sensible book of instructions supplied; there are instructions on the website, but without a printer no hard copy can be accessed and so it was a case of switching back and forth between website pages and setup programs. It took me almost a week and a nervous breakdown to succeed and even then I do not have the selection of on screen icons I had with the old machine. Are there any more than print, scan and fax? Now I don't need it - I hope - I have a hard copy of the setup procedures! PLEASE CONSIDER THE OLDER GENERATIONS, they are printer users too you know.
