Strong Christian Bias - Avoid
1 of 1 found this helpful I purchased this book on the strength of having completed the online survey. I had hoped for more detailed explanations of the different love languages and how to use them, but was surprised and disappointed at the tone of the book. It is written by a devout Christian who not so subtly suggests all relevant relationships are hetero in nature, of which the sole purpose is to lead to marriage. Dubious statistics are presented to deride single parent families and de facto relationships. The concept of same sex relationships is not even covered, presumably these are not considered true or appropriate relationships. Most examples given are of people who either met at church or as part of a church related activity - hardly typical of modern western society. Although the overall concept of the 5 love languages is sound, I found this book biased towards a particular Christian morality and therefore not inclusive of the majority of society. If I had of known this beforehand I would not have purchased it.

A cracking good read.
Interesting plot, fully rounded characters. Even though this is part of a series, it is not essential to have read the earlier books first to understand the characters. I found I did not want a chapter to end, but then the next chapter had me hooked as soon as I started it. Love the sympathetic comparisons between paganism and Christianity, although typically the concept of Satanism as a belief system is not fully understood. Despite this, a great read.

A Must Read
Quite possibly the funniest book I have ever read.
