Gold lions dynamic sounds
Bought the 6v6s to replace the jjs I had in my Engator tweaker. Hated the harsh cheap sounds they produce. They produced limited cleans. Very shrill. So my take on the gold lions. They cover the blues and jazz quite nicely. Very clean tones when turning down the gain. For rock/metal turning up the volume and gain and these tubes scream in a nice way. No shrill but all the dynamics are there, as well as controlled feedback and harmonics. They catch all the subtle nuances of your playing style. I would rate these a 9-10 in comparison the jjs I would give them a 5-6. I guess you get what you pay for.
