Great nostalgia set, nice variety, but an unfortunate design flaw
A great, unique set with a 50/50 mix of old and new. If you are not into the 1E art style, you may want to skip these. Personally, while I was playing back in 1E, I'm not a huge fan. However, having variations of goblins, bugbears, etc is always welcome to mix things up for those who, like me, actually use their minis at the table.
Unfortunately, one of the signature figures, and what I think is by far the coolest, seems to have a design / implementation flaw. The #50 Young Gold Dragon 1E is REALLY cool, and is designed in the style of the D&D ampersand logo. I've opened 4 bricks, pulled 2 of these, both were broken. There was only 1 other broken figure in 4 bricks. Fortunately, WizKids product support has been great in getting these replaced, but they will have only so many backfill for these purposes.
If you want one of these very cool #50 Young Gold Dragons, I wouldn't wait. Pick one up from the sellers here on eBay, such as Knights of Light, or gamble with a Booster or Brick. While most minis fall in price over time, I do not believe that specific one will. The combination of high demand and a high rate of breakage (thereby reducing supply of an already Rare figure) is going to keep the price high.
