Detailed and tight bass. Good sound stage
1 of 1 found this helpful Worth every penny. I’m sure they would sound better if I had a better system. I have a Marantz SR7012 with an old OPPO 103. I bought these headphones because late at night when can’t sleep and don’t want disturb anybody and I wanted something that matched up with the KEF R series sound.
They aren’t travel type headphones so weight was not an issue.
They are classy and well made
If you’re use to hirer end sound maybe check out the Focal or Sennheisers but for me these sound great
They cost more though. $600-$800.
I wished someone picked up the ball manufactured stuff like OPPO once did.

My third Marantz
1 of 1 found this helpful 40 years ago I bought a my first stereo and my first receiver was a Marantz. As a result I’ve always liked the looks and sound of Marantz electronics.
After owning many other high quality amps I decided to give Marantz a shot with the purchase my second surround receiver. So I bought a RS7009. Wow Marantz did not disappoint. Its was the best receiver I’ve ever owned. At the time I had 4 JM Labs tower speakers with a center channel speaker. Then I upgraded to a KEF R300, R100’s, MartinLogan C2 center channel surround speakers. Along with two MartinLogan satellites for the Altmos and two 10” subwoofers.
After owning it for 4 years I wanted to upgrade to a newer model for more 4K options. So I upgraded to the Marantz RS7012. All these changes have created a more detailed sound.
I would eventually like to upgrade my center channel speaker to new the KEF Reference speaker. I’ll have to wait a bit because it’s sells for $1200.
I’m glad I upgraded to the Marantz RS7012. The price is low for now. I bought it from Safe and Sound for many reasons the main one being they are authorized dealers.
If you need a new receiver don’t wait to long because the price won’t go lower. $11-1200 is the going price. If you need more amperage but at twice the cost Marantz has you cover with a 205 watt surround receiver. I think it’s model RS8012

KEF speakers are outstanding
I currently have the KEF R300 front Left and Right channel speakers with the R100 rear speakers. As soon as I can afford it I will replace my center channel MartinLogan with the KEF center channel speaker. New they usually run around $1000.00. KEF R series speakers are high end hand crafted speakers. They are a great for surround sound and stereo setups.
The only speakers I would consider replacing them with is with KEF Reference series. Five Stars
