Trangia Alcohol Burner
4 of 4 found this helpful I have had and used just about every type and brand of backpack stove. This stove is essentially bulletproof. It is perfectly simple, idiot proof, durable, fairly efficient and quiet. One of the reasons I go to the bush is to relax. If I want a cup of tea, I take this out, take the top off and light it. No fiddling with canisters, priming, or attaching anything. It is environmentally sound as well. It will last a lifetime, uses renewable fuel and has no canisters to throw in the trash. The fuel is more widely available than any other. Some people say it is not good in cold weather. I live in Alaska and I have never had a problem, in fact, alcohol stoves are what the mushers use on the Iditarod. So, if you are interested in not spending a lot of money, don't care about newest or most fancy and just want a stove to cook on, buy this. Highly recommend.
