Mates with the Johnson cartridge pump
This item is a replacement that is compatible with the Johnson cartridge pump. The thick plate on the bottom that is shown in the pictures can be unscrewed and the switch then slides onto the tang on the pump body.
I found the switch to be reliable enough over the last few years, until my old one died. It kept water out of the boat and did not stick on and kill the battery. This replacement has me back in business.
The float is protected from debris inside the switch body, but there is a protruding piece that can be moved up via your finger or a screwdriver to test that the automatic setting is working.
