Enjoyable reading about earth's geological history
It is a good addition to other very interesting books by this author.

A usable pocket radio with the right earphones

Not so for the stereo with the ear phones. There is so much interference, the ear phones are hardly unusable. With another ear phone brand I was able to hear better, although the full volume is needed. I would say the radio is satisfactory and I would recommend it. Reception is best using the wall plug in adapter compared to using disposable batters by themselves.

Necessary knowledge but very sobering
Excellent composition of related parts of the history of the petroleum industry and where we are today. It explains how the oil and gas industry is and has impacts everyone alive today and for generations to come.
