Last G&S Opera, Historic Recording by the great D'Oyly Carte Company
Historic recording of the most neglected and nearly forgotten G&S opera. Hard to believe this recording is nearing 50 years old. The Grand Duke has been given much criticism as a work compared to the best of Gilbert and Sullivan. But it has some magical moments that should not be neglected.

Sullivan's Songs Deserve A Fresh Look!
Magnificent collection of Sullivan's songs. Well played and sung, and so much beautiful music! These are sadly neglected in today's Art Song repertoire, as they are equal to, or superior, to many from the past two centuries or so that are still common in the field today. It's another sign of how Sullivan's music- outside of the operas with W.S. Gilbert- are given short shrift.
