Classic VH
2 of 2 found this helpful This is a good album but not as good top to bottom as VH I or II. It does have one of their very best songs in Unchained. One foot out the Door is a lost gem on this album. Rest of the album is just OK. At 31 min. you have to wonder if they were running short on creativity at this point. Still a good one to have in your music collection.

Junk
One of the rotors arrived with rust which I had to clean off. One of the metal plates on the back of the pads fell off. The biggest issue was the pads were not machined to fit smoothly into the clips. It looked like the ends were not stamped out in the right shape with extra metal making it nearly impossible to get them to fit. I had to file a lot of material off the ends to get them to fit and slide in the clips like they are supposed to. If the brake pads are too tight in the clips they will not wear evenly or work as well as they should. I would not recommend this brand and certainly not a great value. These are cheap brakes.

Great guitar
The A1R is a fantastic guitar. Nice looking without being too fancy. Very comfortable neck, great electronics, excellent quality and a good tone. This guitar should be way more popular than it is. The reason I give 4 instead of 5 stars is because it comes with a plastic nut and saddle. That's the difference between good tone and great tone on an acoustic guitar. It make no sense for Yamaha to skimp on these inexpensive parts to save maybe $5-10 when nearly every other guitar in this price range(and many cheaper) come with bone, nubone or tusq. The worst part is that the saddle is a very odd size so the replacement tusq saddle took a whole lot of sanding(PITA) to replace. The tusq nut was a drop in replacement. If you don't know what you're doing, it's best to have a luthier or guitar tech ugrade these parts which of course won't be cheap. So in the end it takes a lot of money/work to replace two small but crucial parts that Yamaha shouldn't have skimped on in the 1st place.
