Astonishing performance
The requirement was to increase storage capacity with unit price $50 as the oem unit was almost full ( and so also inhibiting Windows processing , seriously inhibiting processing, as in almost unusable ).
For a few dollars more why not select a high quality enterprise spec drive ?
Relative to the expectations of a 1.6Ghz XP Windows 1GB ram memory system , this drive was astonishing in lowering Time To Complete Tasks , especially those needing high sequential reads.
Admittedly a lot of the performance improvement was due to now adequate free space , but tested at 135MB/s vs oem 90MB/s and access speed 7.2ms vs oem 15.0ms on a SATA II bus , this upgrade would be useful and cost effective regardless, for most older desktop computers
The downside is this drive can be noisy , but depends upon drive bay design
Those owners with modder inclinations this drive family is quite awesome looking.

Useful computer case physical storage device
Just a really handy addition to a supported desktop or tower computer as is large enough to store software disks , notes , display cleaner and other related items , that often get misplaced
Was a bonus to find spring loaded draw catch - press and pops out a little to offer easy sliding out and positive locking

Compatible with Acer Aspire AX3900
Appears to me compatible with Acer Aspire AX3900 desktop as no crashes and tested good using memtest86+ - am now using 4 x modules for total installed 8GB
Noticeably smoother using 64bit Windows 7 for even my low resource app usage , with graphics better now using up to 1.6GB shared system memory
