Can't use it
If I connect the splitter when the receiver is on, it works. But if I then turn the receiver (a Pioneer VSX-821) off and back on, the HDMI light on the receiver keeps dropping out together with the picture in an endless cycle. It's as if a valid HDMI connection cannot be established.
Also, one of the 4 outputs on my unit doesn't work at all.
It may be just an incompatibility between my receiver and the splitter but, of the two, I think the receiver is most likely to implement the HDMI spec correctly.

A little bit of rust
There is a little bit of corrosion on the insides of the sockets but nothing that interferes with use. They're working well for me.

Perfect for repairing earbuds
This is a high quality part, suitable for repairing portable equipment. It does not really come out in the pictures how small the plug is but notice how the outer cover is about the same length and not much wider than the connector, then compare with a mini-jack you have on hand.
The plug is designed for the thin lacquered wires normally used in headphone wires, and takes some skill to solder.
