It's the genuine GM part, what more can you ask for?
Excellent fit. Very bright. No instructions were included. Make sure you have power to the old unit before installing. Installation requires some planning: The hardest part is fitting the rubber grommet through the body. I applied dishwashing liquid detergent to the grommet as a lubricant and crafted a push tool with a ½ inch pvc pipe by cutting a slot in it to allow the wires to remain free. I used a multi-tool saw to cut the slot, and a rubber mallet to drive the push tool. Use the old wires to pull the new wires through the body to the switch. To do this, carefully remove the old grommet with the wires intact. As it has probably hardened, it will require a box cutter type razor with the help of a thin flat screwdriver to dig it out. Once the grommet is out, gently pull the old wires out of the body and cut them just behind the grommet. Tie the new plug onto the old wires and wrap them with a little electrical tape to fish them through the body to the switch. Remove the old plug from the switch and attach the new plug. Test the brake light. If you have power, proceed to install the new grommet seal as described above.

Do you have an Alternative?
I don't know whether there is any alternative to this visor for the Amanti. Many Hyundai visors look like they are the same thing and cost far less. I just could not take the risk or time to find out if a substitution was possible. Both the driver side and the passenger side visors broke on my Amanti. I've owned many cars over many years and this has never happened in any other car. I'm pretty good at repairing things, but the manner in which these visors break cannot be repaired. The "hinge" inside is made of cheap plastic and it just gives out and cracks/breaks. They will not stay up by themselves and flop down. Five stars because it is OEM. Service was great.

Vivid portrayal of recent history
As this story unfolded on the screen, the atmosphere it created felt authentic. The excellent director's commentary (special feature) explained why that impression was accurate. The cast includes many distinguished veteran actors in key roles, including East Germans. They had lived what is portrayed. For example, the equipment that was used in the film to spy on people was actual equipment that the Stasi, East Germany's state police, had used. This is not a documentary, but the film does more to inform than it does entertain. In the end, we can only wonder how many governments still operate this way, and the havoc they wreck on their citizens. As we watch Mubarak's Egypt, and Khaddafy's Libya implode now (March 2011), and see the anger and frustration boil out of the once oppressed masses, the degree of destruction done to people's lives is made palpable. In summary, this window on the Stasi's control of East German citizens is a window on all totalitarian regimes still in place. An important film, wonderfully acted.
