Lightwight but powerful small radio
4 of 4 found this helpful It´s lightweight, but It has good selectivity and sensitivity. It´s a beautiful analog radio indeed. It´s not going to be your main DX radar, although it´s possible to tune DX signals with it.

I'm satisfied with it
It has more power than UV5R etc. Reception is very good, similar to my Yaesu FT252. The stock antenna is really impressive for its size. You won't find much information about this unit (GT-5TP) as you will find documentation, reviews, etc for other Baofeng radios. Easy to operate, I love the dual band receiving capability and the dual band PTT as well. It speaks loudly, but it can't be regulated at maximum volume if you mind hearing distorted audio. Charger is very lightweight and doesn't have the GND pin, battery either. It produces a lot of noise on HF frequencies when charging.

Well done product
I thought the rings were made of plastic, but they are solid and made of metal. The whole product has a good quality. I suggest adding a little WD40 in the rings to prevent rusting over time. It´s a pretty useful thing, especially for external operations, whether at work or on amateur radio expeditions or even in emergency and rescue situations. It protects a good area of the radio and lets the speaker play its role without causing muffling of the sound. In addition, it can be worn on the belt or hanging from the shoulder.
