Great songs
Great songs by a great artist. The recordings are perfect.

A movie with depth
This is a movie with depth that isn't afraid to take on difficult or unusual issues. The acting is very good to great, especially by Elizabeth Taylor and Katherine Hepburn, who were nominated for Academy Awards. Works well in black and white. It didn't bother me that it wasn't in color. The scenery was excellent and contributes to each scene. Costumes are excellent, especially Taylor and Hepburn. If you've seen the play, you'll still enjoy the movie, which contains scenes at the hospital and scenes of the death of Sebastian in Spain that the play alludes to but doesn't contain. I will watch it again and wouldn't be surprised if it becomes a movie that I watch periodically.
