More features than other transport chairs
1 of 1 found this helpful I needed to purchase a transport chair for my mother and since no one in my immediate family had experience with wheel or transport chairs I had no idea there would be so much to consider when choosing one. My hours of research led me to the Nova Lightweight Transport Chair because of the features for safety, comfort and overall use that I did not find with other transport chairs.
The chair was delivered on time but it seemed larger and heavier than I expected so as disappointed as I was, I put it back in the box with the intention of returning it. My search for a different transport chair was going no where so I decided to take another look at the NOVA and the next day my mom and I took the chair on what mom called it's "maiden voyage". It did not take long before I knew I liked the chair and I knew mom liked it too when she called it the Cadillac of transport chairs. The chair is solid and easy to use and with a little practice I can easily lift and maneuver the chair in and out of moms Buick Lucern trunk. Even with the armrests and foot plates attached the chair is not that heavy and it fits in the trunk like a glove with them on.
I knew mom had to be comfortable and feel safe in the chair and with the 12" rear wheels, hand breaks and locking rear wheels I am confident the NOVA is comfortable and safe for both the passenger and the operator. Mom prefers the arm rests attached so the table height arm rests were something we had to have plus the step tilt bar in the back has come in handy.
We've used the chair several times since taking it back out of the box a week ago and so far we feel we made the right choice. If we have more to say about the chair in the future I will revise this review but for now I can say I recommend the NOVA Lightweight Transport Chair with 12" rear wheels (352B).
