The Right Tool, But . . .
The function of the tool, in concept, was correct, however I have 2 concerns with the overall quality. First, I had to lower the height of the thread-in insert on the valve spring foot, in order to get the knurled nut to engage, and Secondly, I made it through about 18 of the 24 valve springs before the foot started to bend and slide off the top of the valve spring. Recommendations - build up the top of the valve spring foot to prevent bending and check actual fitment of the tool on an engine, in order to check knurled nut engagement. I made it through the first part of the job, however the tool may need modification before the rebuild begins. . .
