I am a retired accountant that fell down the tool collecting and wood working rabbit hole. I am also a bowl and spoon carver. My specialty is American and Japanese hand planes. My wife and I also collaborate on making cutting boards. I am in the process of making some specialty Japanese planes for spoon carvers, compass planes and block style planes. Sooooo, stay tuned to see what I come up with.

    The plane was shipped promptly, very well-packed. It was exactly as described and as photographed. Very sharp blade, produced very thin shavings. The sole was lapped as is optimal for this type of Japanese plane. Good value. I like it! I'd do business with this seller, again. Shipping by USPS and FedEx was delayed by the weather, not by the seller.

Just what I needed
I do a LOT of sharpening and use this stone for roughing out an edge. It is just the right grit for what I needed. I will probably end up buying some of their higher grit stones.
