Better than I expected...
I bought this movie because I have a huge crush on Ben Barnes, and I will watch almost anything with Colin Firth in it; I was looking for ninety minutes of swooning at beauty, but was presented with a very interesting film.
Of course, the film diverges wildly from the book, introducing characters and situations that weren't in the Oscar Wilde novel and skipping over things in the book that I loved. However, it caught the dreamy contemplative mood of the novel admirably, and explicated the themes that I think Wilde was trying to get at: the falseness of the visible, a critique of the Victorian morality in which transgressions are punished out of proportion to the sin, but only if you get caught dropping the mask.
All in all a surprisingly good outing, filled with the beauty and sexiness I was expecting and a degree of tought-provocation that I wasn't.

I got the yucks, but where are the laughs?
0 of 4 found this helpful When we ordered this film, we thought it would be silly fun, a campy spoof on the classic zombie flick; the box description had us in stitches! Unfortunately, the only funny thing about this film was the box description -- the rest of the appalling mess was a confusing parade of gross-outs and potty-jokes that don't quite come off as funny. Perhaps if you're a big fan of the Troma Films genre, you might enjoy it (and I will admit that the musical numbers were pretty good, and the dialog was strangely intelligent); but all in all, I would have rather spent my afternoon cleaning the grout in my bathroom.

Lose Your Belly, help your Little Buddies...
4 of 4 found this helpful Great book, very easy to read, got done with it within 2 days. The recipes seem easy and the ingredients are reasonably priced, even for organic produce. Haven't actually tasted the recipes yet, will try them this weekend, but the quick hacks have been easy to incorporate, and it's nice that he gives brand names, so it's easy to shop for. The different chapters really make sense regarding their topics ( good "bugs": what they do, and how to help them help you). I also liked the quick list of what you should always buy organic and the list for OK non-organic produce. Looking forward to trying the recipes.
