Gigabyte 970A-UD3P Mother Board

The board has 4 SIMM Memory slots and is compatible with DDR3 1600 RAM
The board has UEFI BIOS which is compatible with Windows 8 and Windows 10
The board has 2 PCI-e slots one 16x and one 4x
The board has on board optical out connector to include S/PDIF header
Con's
The SATA port connectors position make it hard to use 2 Full size Graphics card
Heat Sink on chipset block the use of full size PCI-E Gen2 slots
Front Panel connector pin hard to connect to standard case pinouts
I had a Gigabyte 970D-G46 motherboard that failed I replaced it with the Gigabyte 970A-UD3P, after transferring components to the Gigabyte 970A-UD3P the board booted the first time. Windows load as the chipset was close to the previous board, did not have to re-install Windows 7, it just updated the drivers and i was up and running.
I am using a Cosair H60 water cooler and my temp are always under 30 C, even under load. I have not fully tested the SLI, but I can tell there is a slight issue here as one slot is 16x and the other is only 4x. I have 2 GTX-460 and the one in the 4x slot numbers are somewhat slightly lower than the GTX-460 in the 16x slot, i would not worry about it if the card were different, but card of the same Model card having different performance numbers worries me.
The board is solid, i like the DUAL BIOS as you can always restore from the second BIOS, and the good part is there is not way to corrupt the second BIOS, that is a plus.

AMD Turion X2 Ultra ZM-86 Dual-Core 2.4GHz 2M Socket S1 Laptop CPU
Was not sure if this processor would work in my HP Pavilion DV5-1119nr, it was in the maintenance document as compatible,My processor after 15 years just gave up though I thought, but it was the GPU (and that is another story). This CPU is pin for pin compatible, it give me 1 mb more of 2nd level cache, and 400 mhz boost in CPU frequency, makes it run just a little bit snappier.
The processor is a good processor, booted on the first try. It is stable and boots every time. This is not the processor but my mistake, in getting a higher clock frequency, I for got that will add more heat, so I am finding a solution to reduce the heat, running between 66 and 74 degrees Celsius for the CPU that is kind of bad as the TDP for the ZM-86 is 70.5 and the GPU is 80 to 94 degrees Celsius which is not good either, but all in all I cannot complain, it upgraded my system and and boosted my performance. A good little processor for S1G2 sockets

This board supports the AM3+ processors, which is getting hard to find. This board has both PATA and SATA ports, it does not have onboard graphics but supports SLI with 2 PCIe x16 slots, 4 memory slots for up to 32 GB of memory. It also has USB3 on the rear panel but does not have an internal USB3 internal header which is a shame. It is compatible with Windows 10 32/64. The board being fast is dependent upon the CPU, Video and RAM, it does support the FX-81xx and FX-83xx CPU's, it is compatible with allot of AMD 3 ( 939 Pin ) CPU's, the bad is that AMD 3 is a dead platform, this board is a good buy at the price for repair, or a budget system if you have older AMD 3 CPU's. There is really no upgrade path, the PCIe is only version 2.1 it will support new graphics but will bottleneck them on bandwidth as most newer graphics are PCIe 4.0, DDR 3 memory is getting hard to find as well so keep that in mind. Good for repair, can be good for an upgrade for older system at a minimal price for entry level game, web surfing, and light video editing (lower than 1080P).
