They point the right direction if you read them right.

Read them from the side do not look at the top. Most of this style have a cap or sun cover on the top. This one dose not and you can read it from the top and it will be 180 degrees off. Do not adjust until you try. mine was very close. For the money it is a fair deal. The bracket is fragile for a small sail boat if bump it. On a dash it will be fine.

Did not work on harley.

Too much vibratiaon on a harley. Holds at idle but as soon as you hit higher rpm it just flops downi and you cant get it tight enough. tried several times to get it really tight but it did not work. the arm from the windshield is long and whips around to cause the problem. I think it would work fine on another bike with less vibes.
