Good presentation but needs fine tuning the mechanism

Negative------- Slide operation "tight'' to operate, difficult to get a good gauge feel when measuring.
This leads to an inaccurate reading
Possible solution------ Adjust rack and pinion tolerances in manufacture
Lubricate rack and pinion with a low friction grease such as Teflon.
