I'm being a little biased!
The Ray Ban RB3183 polarized sunglasses are the only ones that I have ever bought since I first discovered them in the late 90's/early 2000's. They are my 3rd pair of the exact same model and color! They last for many many years and I only need to get a new pair when I lose the pair I have from backpacking, hiking, fishing, camping, etc. When fishing, the polarized version can see right through the surface glare of the rivers, brooks, ponds and lakes right to where the fish are, it's pretty amazing! Looking through them at the water's surface is like looking through a window underwater! No joke!

Everyone should have an electricity-free source of information.
I live in the part of the country recently hit by Helene and we had no internet, cell service and electricity at my place for almost 5 days. I could still go out to the store and use cash and it felt like going back in time to the 1990's. I started thinking about what I was up to back in the 1990's (when there were no cell phones and the internet wasn't much of anything). The two things I missed most were pay phones so I could tell my family I'm alive and my old encyclopedia set I used for book reports and just to learn about a huge range of cool things. I also went through Hurricane Bob. Back then I just got the flashlight or candles and started picking out encyclopedia books by whatever letter I was thinking of and would read through and learn all sorts of cool stuff. From plants, to the ocean, to Ancient Greece. The books are organized very well and if you are searching for a specific topic, it's easy to find. Great for having around at the house during ice storms and such.

They're Polk Audio, they've been perfecting speakers since the 1970's. 50 years is a lot of time to make a nice speaker.
They're Polk Audio, that pretty much sums it up! They make the factory speakers in my truck that I replaced them with sound like the paper pieces of garbage they are. With the factory speakers, I had the volume on my Alpine stereo set at 44, with the Polk speakers the stereo is set at 22 and is still louder and much better sound quality. The magnets are about 1 1/2 times the size. You can hear the highs and mid-range sounds like it's a home theater. With some songs you can even hear notes and instruments you didn't even know were playing in the song. They are 4" speakers so they're not going to make your mirrors rattle but you can still feel the bass in the dash. I'm bias though. I worked at my uncle's car junkyard from when I was 12 until my mid-20's (I'm 44 now) in my spare time and had the pick of any aftermarket speakers I wanted to take out of the cars; Rockford Fosgate, Bose, Alpine, Kenwood, Polk, all of them. And after having access to so many different high end speaker brands over the years I always kept going back to the Polk speakers. Bose is a tiny bit better for bass but Polk is close and the highs and mids are better than Bose in my opinion.
