Quadro FX 580 Powerhouse!
I am an animator that heavily relies on GPU power. Unfortunately I am not a professional, meaning I don't get paid to do what I love. What is fortunate is that Nvidia has released the Quadro FX series. The main thing about the 580 is that it has the same processing power as the FX 1700. But, instead of paying the mid-range price, you get it at the entry level price. In my opinion it is well worth the money paid. I run graphic heavy programs that require a lot more GPU processing than video games require. And this bad boy pulls it off, on windows 7 x64, without a hitch. The card runs smoothly while modeling in Autodesk 3DS max 2010, and while animating in Autodesk Motionbuilder 2010. This card has the power I need. Keep in mind that this doesn't have the render times like that of a professional workstation card. But this card did have the power to run the live updating while color correcting on Autodesk Lustre. It also has no problems running the Adobe Master Collection Suite, efficiently and quickly renders the outputs at high
resolutions. Whether it be used for video editing, compositing, graphic design or print design, this guy does it all. For it's price, I believe this card is amazing. If it's just to be used for video game play, or to view media
such as HD or Blu-Ray movies, I'm sure this card can handle it. Though this card does NOT have HDMI inputs, it does have DISPLAYport which most newer HD monitors and some TV's have this now. Or a simply adapter can be found
no problem if there is a need for HDMI hookup. But, all in all, this card is more than capable (by capable I mean I can run my programs without heavy lag or "glitches") to run what I need. In my opinion I believe this is a very good card, for it's price range. Better than most ATI cards in the same range -- and thats a fact not an opinion, "google it". LOL! No, seriously this is a very good card capable of handling most of today's video GPU heavy tech.
From movies and photo's to serious 3D modeling and rendering, this card has got your back.
