Nature Knows Best Chilli Muscle Rub 30g - Aches & Pains, Physical Exertion
    Jul 28, 2016
A waste of time and money
I had read a number of reviews from different sources about this product, and suffering from sciatica I was keen to give it a try. Capsaicin the active ingredient extracted from chillies is used in a number of pain relief treatments, some even requiring a hospital stay. It works by first stimulating and then decreasing the intensity of pain signals in the body. After it is applied it should feel hot on the skin, far more so than products such as tiger balm or deep heat. The only thing I felt after using this was greasy and disappointed; no burning, not even a tingle. Confident it should work after reading other reviews, I decided to take a hot shower to open the pores and try again. I then tried it on my arm, neck and even my cheek, areas sensitive to these types of treatments, all to no avail. The product itself looks and feels a lot like a light lime grease you might use to waterproof a boat, dark brown in colour with a faint smell of curry powder. While I cannot discount the fact I may have purchased a rip-off product or that the formula has changed since those earlier reviews, based on my experience, you would be better off using deep heat, tiger balm or similar branded products. Even massaging the affected area with nothing at all would be as beneficial as using this product.
