Revamped my amp
Put this 12" Cannabis Rex in my little Fender Champ12; wow, what a difference! It is a more efficient speaker than the stock one I replaced. I no longer have to fight to cut over the drummer in the mix at rehearsals, and I actually used the little 10 watter at a small gig this past weekend! Every note is more defined with a clarity on the top end, yet still warmer overall than before. Mind you, it isn't even broken in yet! Champ12's have a reputation for being boxy and dark due to the size of the cabinet and the stock speaker, but the C-Rex really opens the amp up nicely. This speaker just gave my little amp a new versatility and a much better sound quality. I wish I hadn't waited so long to make the swap, it is just that much better sounding, with a punch that cuts through the mix well. My main gigging amp is a Fender Prosonic 2x10; if the C-Rex can improve a practice amp so drastically, I wonder what it would sound like with a new 1x12 baffle for the Prosonic?
