If all you want is a dark lens these will work. If you want them to be visible at night, not a good choice.
They are smoked light lens. They do not appear red or yellow when light passes through them. They are very dark and the light bulb illuminates a very small amount of the lens. The build is good and packaging is well done. They fit fine in a 1995 Jeep Wrangler. I am going to replace the front ones very soon as there are other options that allow for more light.

The are plastic, not metal. They do the job, but I am not sure how they will do if the spoiler rubs on something.

Blacked out
The lights themselves look really good. There is a plastic cover to install them that is a little to large to fit into the space on the car. I used the original metal ones and that worked fine.
