great little IP security cam
2 of 2 found this helpful I have installed six Foscam IP security cams now, and these two Wanscams are equal to any of them and superior to most in quality. I used the included software only to set a fixed IP address, after which I included it in the IP security cam group that I monitor with Blue Iris. Just two caveats: I needed extension cables for both, and discovered to my dismay that the specs on the seller's site are wrong. It is a 5v camera, not a 12v, and therefore takes a different cable (although it's the same 5v extension cable you would buy for a 5v Foscam). Also, when using a third-party software to monitor these cameras, you must ID them as Foscam or Foscam equivalent cameras. They will not work if ID'd as a Wanscam. The reason I use a third party software at all is that the apps that come with both Foscam and Wamscam cameras will not recognize any other brand of camera, so if you have a mix of cams as I do, you have no choice. BTW, I highly recommend Blue Iris for this and other IP cams. A bit difficult to configure but worth the effort in my opinion.

Great for my unique needs
This is the second pastry display case I have purchased from this company, and I have been very happy with both. However, I can't vouch for their use as display cases because I don't use them to display donuts. With slight modifications, I use them to house stereo equipment in an outdoor setting. They can be made to be weatherproof, and they stand up well to the elements. They're also transparent, so IR remote controls can be used with the equipment inside. I've had the first one for better than six years, and it shows very little in the way of wear and tear. Just purchased a larger unit, and the quality and construction are the same as the first, except that I had to assemble the larger one. Assembly was very simple and straightforward.
