One of the best (and last) socket 775 motherboards
CPU manufacturers seem to hate their customers by changing the socket implementation every two years. This means that the £400 chip you may have bought that is more than adequate for anything you need to do is defunct if you need to upgrade your system in a way that most motherboards don't allow for. I bought this to upgrade from an Asus P5W64-WS Pro, which was great but limited the amount of RAM to 8GB and for the video editing I do I needed 16GB. There are plenty of boards with a max of 16GB but they only have one PCIe16 socket, and I needed two (for graphics and RAID cards), so this was the ultimate choice. The only other option was a Gigabyte P45T-USB3 or something. This board has fantastic features in the bios that allow as much control as you'd like over your RAM, GFX and CPU. The build is excellent with high end components. My only complaint is the arrangement of some of the sockets, for example the RAM is so close to the CPU that my CPU cooler prevents me from using my Corsair Dominator RAM cooler, no biggie as I don't OC my RAM, but still, an oversight. Also the IDE connector is so near the bottom of the motherboard that my DVDRW barely connects with the longest IDE cable available. (Not an issue for long as they're all sata these days). Lastly, the 8-pin CPU power connector is pretty well hidden if you have a big CPU cooler. These complaints don't distract from how perfect the board is in every other respect. If you've invested in a good SKT775 CPU (Mine is the Xeon 3360 (aka Q9550)) and need multiple PCI lanes (other than the useless 1x ports that litter all boards), and/or 16GB RAM, then this is it!!!

Like the series? Get the movie!
Fantastic film to accompany a fantastic series. Given you can find it for under a fiver, if you intend to buy the series just get this too! Unusually it's not a sequel to the series but it set before the last three episodes.

Great price but not very strong
This kit has a lot of plus points. + Cheap + Case + Easy + Strong materials BUT the stands, or rather the restraining bolts that hold the arms up, sag if holding a heavy mic. I used them with the Rode NTG-2 and the Shure SM-58. They are fine with the Rode, it's nice and light, but the Shure is a little too heavy for them. So if you have or intend to use lightweight mics then get this kit. If you're using SM-58s or heavier then double your budget as these will not hold up.
