Genuine OEM Subaru Outback Re-manufactured Axle 2000-2004 (SOA966H1100R1)

So far so good!

Had a knocking noise (not engine related) coming from the driver's side of my 2004 Outback. It would only happen on acceleration while turning right, although occassionally would happen on heavy acceleration going straight. After some research I decided that replacing the axle was the most likely solution as I'm assuming it was original (173k miles, 2nd owner). I decided against aftermarket parts since there were numerous horror stories about vibration and noise with aftermarket axles. New OEM axles were very expensive. So I happened upon rebuilt OEM axles and decided it was my best option. Install was not difficult but that's very subjective. Took me about 2 hours. When I went for a test drive - problem SOLVED. No more knocking, no vibration. It worked perfectly! And in the two weeks since then I've had no problems.

Nice gasket set, but slightly different for EJ259

This a great OEM gasket set, but be warned that if you have a EJ259 engine ('04 Northeast spec cars, check the plate in your engine bay on the drivers fender) the exhaust gaskets are incorrect. The will physically fit, but they have a two port design, where as the EJ259 has a single port design. Not sure if this applies to any other 2.5L engines (such as the EJ251). Otherwise set is perfect
