Happy
5 of 5 found this helpful Not used for gaming but rather for video encoding using the on-board NVENC encoder. This works great, has good quality and seriously speeds up encoding rates as opposed to cpu only encoding.

Top notch Home Theater Receiver
We bought this receiver to replace an outdated Pioneer receiver primarily because we were upgrading to Blu-Ray and needed HDMI 1.3 compliant switching capability. We also wanted to future proof our purchase by insuring the receiver could decode all of the latest audio codecs. The Denon AVR 889 achieved this in all respects. When we ran the Audyssey MultEQ function the result revealed how glaringly inadequate the center channel and sub-woofer we had was. So, off to Fry's for a couple more purchases and a re-run of Audyssey MultEQ. The result was significantly different from what we were used to but the sound field experience during action films is remarkable.
Setting up this receiver was challenging. We have an XBOX 360 (component 1080i), a DISH Vip622 (HDMI 1080i), a Panasonic BD35 blu-ray DVD player (HDMI 1080p) and a Panasonic DMRES45V DVD/VHS combo recorder (HDMI 1080i). We wanted a single HDMI connection solution into our Mitsubishi WD-65734 DLP TV (1080p). Once everything was plugged in we went through and assigned everything. The on-screen menus are like working in old DOS but suitable enough. The upscaling capability of this receiver is very, very good in our opinion. HDMI control would do weird things though so we simply turned all of that off. The Mits has what they call Netcommand and using that, we are able to have the receiver turn on when the TV is turned on.
All in all, we are very happy with this purchase and feel it was worth every penny.

This GPU rocks!
3 of 3 found this helpful I have been attempting to acquire a 30x series GPU for sometime now but prices and availability have been a nightmare. However, my need was too great so I pulled the trigger on this card. This card will be used to upscale older videos and the software I use selected needs TENSOR CORES to perform reasonably. It brought a typical 480 to 1080 upscale from 2-3 days to under 4 hours... Very happy with the result.
