Classic 1950's Science fiction movie
This movie, which I first viewed in Eagle River, Wisconsin on vacation in 1955 at the age of thirteen, left an impression on me as a boy avid reader of science fiction stories. The film is well cast in all of its' characters and given the icing on the cake with Ray Harryhausen's stop motion flying saucers and weird ancient aliens looking for a new home as they flee their planet's dying sun and keeping their ancient and frail bodies alive in protective suits of "solidified electricty." These suits give them destructive power from energy rays discharged from their out-stretched arms to blow up buildings and the saucers powerful energy beam discharges from a descending ray cannon underneath the flying discs. The Saucers are incredibly fast and manuverable and emit an accelerating "whirring whine." Classic 1950's sci-fi film.

A unique Star Trek collectable
The pilot episode "The Cage" is Unique: "Star Trek" and something else in itself. It has thle look and feel of a feature film in the mold of 1956's "Forbidden Planet" from MGM movie studio. Te cast and casting is superb, sets perfect and lavish, color highly saturated and special effects well done.A treat to own and view, again and again. It seems to only be available on VHS base on extensive searching the internet, which seems odd. Highly recommended.
