Nice but not perfect
If you are an avid diecast collector, you'll definitely want this item. Like the Le Grandi FF, I don't think that it will be sold outside of Italy.
Le Grandi is bBurago with upscale packaging. But the bBurago catalog does not include this item and it's one of my favorite Ferraris.
bBurago does mostly a very nice job. However, the black trim on the lower rocker panels will need to be done by hand and, though the real car has an open top, this piece does not. I'm going to paint the top flat black.
Item comes packaged with a nice case and includes a very nice hardback book, though it's all Italian.
Considering the high cost of shipping from Italy, I probably overpaid for this but it will be a rare item outside of Italy and I'd buy again.

Wish there were more like it!
1 of 1 found this helpful I'm probably not going to build this for a while, but it looks great.
The metallic Garnet Red has NO swirls - the best metallic plastic I can remember. All of the exterior parts are done in the same color. There are also black and grey sprues. The windows and taillights are already nicely detailed. It also has a chrome tree and nice low profile no-name tires.
From what I can see, the only painting required would be engine detailing, some easy body detailing for window sills, side marker lights, and a few other minor things.
Decals look complete and excellent, though I did not open that bag. Unlike Revell, AMT seals the decals in a bag and puts a paper sheet in front of them. Having lost a few decals to moisture over the years, I really appreciate the extra step.
As always, packaging is terrific with photos of the real car from every angle. Every car kit should have the same.
For a kit that was also made as a snapper, engine detailing is much better then expected. Full engine detail is provided, not just a plate that I was expecting.
I really see no downside to this kit. It's too bad that so few kits of new cars are available these days. Basically, it's this, the Revell Corvette and the Revell Ford GT. Maybe if this sells as well as it should, that will change.

An unusual kit
Over the years, MPC has done very few Japanese subjects. As it turns out, this one was a one-off, as Toyota made the 2000GT convertible only for the movies. Very nice details, enough parts. Hasn't appreciated much over the years, but a rarity worth having in any collection.
