Camcorder lets me use my S output again. Glad I bought it.
Camcorder has some cosmetic damage, but functions perfect. I had a expensive firewire convertor, that had a cheap firewire plug, that blew out the S video output from my two previous Sony camcorders in the 90's, if you put the firewire plug in upside down due to the cheap aluminum socket. Then I couldn't capture the best video, because I had to use the yellow wire video composite.

The thing works great, even under the El. Dropped out only once, for 10 seconds, under a bunch of steel, on the GWashington bridge. Worked all the way upstate NY, even on the back & mountain roads. Only weak points, batteries go fast, (keep plugged in); and make sure, it is stuck on window good. Need a bigger memory card for further traveling. I loaded NY, NJ, PA, DE & MD on the provided memory card. It takes the stress of looking at every sign, street; when you going to a new, rarely traveled to location. It'll tell you when to turn, move to what lane, how long to keep driving until, the next turn, route; well in advance. Glad I bought it. Saved a whole tank of gas, than the other route I took, tolls too.

I love the camera, especially the anti-shake. (I'm a shaker). The picture quality is lifelike, and I edit the AVCHD files, using Ulead 11. Waiting for the price for memory to come down, so I can purchase more cards; only 40 minutes @ the highest quality setting, with a 4 GB card. The only real negative thing, is finding an extra batteries for this camera at this time, it's really hard; (Japan ?) and only one size battery can fit into the camera; so buying a battery, with more mAh capacity, cannot be used; unless you make/ find a battery belt. The 5.1 souund, is true; but don't snap the wide/tele button, or you can hear it on the video. Was thinking about the Canon HV20, Sony, and the JVC. But glad I got this. In low light is video real good also.
